A Note From Interim President Dr. Kathleen Barnes
It has been nearly a year since I stepped in as the interim president at Endicott College, and in that year we have celebrated many exciting successes together. Our admission office has received over 5,000 first-year applications for the first time—last year that number was about 3,500. This incredible jump serves as a testimonial to the hard work being done behind the scenes. We are promoting Endicott through channels we’ve never before used, sharing inspiring messaging and student stories that are driving applications and interest.
Personally, it has been a time for discovering an increased capacity for leadership and taking on new rewarding challenges. It’s a great honor to have the opportunity to lead such an amazing community and I thank you all for your support and kindness while I have been in the president’s office. We’ve done some excellent work and I’m very proud of where this institution stands today.
On July 1, Dr. Steven R. DiSalvo will join us as Endicott’s seventh president, ready to take us on our next journey. I am truly looking forward to being a part of this new administration as it directs the College toward a bright future. We are a passionate and innovative family here, and are ready to take on the challenges and excitement of growing our brand and reputation.
Before Dr. DiSalvo joins us—and only a short time from now—is our 79th Commencement. I’m thrilled to welcome the Class of 2019 to the ranks of Endicott alumni, and to see where they go after they’ve left the Nest. Right now, our seniors are wrapping up finals, getting ready for the excitement of Senior Week, and looking out toward infinite possibility. I will be honored to be on stage to shake their capable hands later this month at Hempstead Stadium.
Here's to wrapping up a spectacular 2018-19 academic year, celebrating the Class of 2019, and welcoming our new president. We’re going great places!
