    M.Ed. in Secondary Education (36 credits)

    Get the preparation you need to work in middle and high school classrooms throughout Massachusetts by developing an in-depth understanding of evidence-based practice in secondary education. Utilizing the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks as a guide, you will gain experience with curriculum development and modification to support all learners in your classes.

    Upon graduation, you will be eligible to earn an initial license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Middle and/or High School (depending on program) in one of the approved subject areas: English, history, humanities, biology, chemistry, physics, general science, and math/science.

Accelerated Teaching Programs

Designed for aspiring middle and high school teachers, our accelerated secondary education programs offer practical training in specific content areas.

This accelerated, post-baccalaureate licensure program is designed to deliver practical training for prospective teachers at either the middle (5–8) or high (8–12) school levels. The program consists of eight courses, including a practicum. Graduates of this program will be eligible for an initial license in one of the following content areas: biology, chemistry, English, general science, history, humanities, mathematics, mathematics/science, or physics.
