Many departments at Endicott depend on student employees to assist them in their day-to-day operations. Through student employment, students can earn money to help defray educational expenses while gaining critical professional skills that they can take with them upon graduation. Working on campus also provides an opportunity to connect with the Endicott community.

For Students

  • Types of Employment

    Federal Work Study

The Federal Work Study (FWS) program provides colleges with federal funding to provide campus jobs to students with financial need. In order to be eligible to receive FWS funding, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are eligible, you will be notified by the Financial Aid Office. FWS allotments are not credited to students’ accounts; students must obtain a job and will receive a bi-weekly paycheck based upon hours worked. Being awarded FWS does not guarantee students will be able to obtain employment but gives them the opportunity to apply for jobs. Many positions fill quickly, so students are encouraged to start their job search process early.

    Campus Employment

Students who do not qualify for FWS cannot apply for jobs until after October 1, unless it is with Sodexo Dining Services, The Wylie Inn, Tupper Manor or Misselwood Events. For step by step instructions on how to access and apply to these jobs, please click here and on Step 3, enter Sodexo, Misselwood or Wylie Inn in the search bar.

    Summer Employment

Summer employment is available to all students who have not graduated or withdrawn from the College. Jobs will be posted on Workday beginning in the spring. All summer job postings will start with the word “Summer” in the job title. Housing is available for those students who are interested. Please reach out to Residence Life for more information about housing.

    Graduate Assistantships

GAs are part-time, hourly, student positions. GA candidates must first be accepted into a full-time graduate program before applying for a position and must show proof of acceptance when applying for the position.

  • Requirements to Begin Working

To begin working at Endicott College, students must be hired in Workday and complete the following steps. If Step 1 was completed for a previous campus job, only Step 2 is required.

STEP 1: Bring original documentation verifying your identity and authorization to work in the United States to the Student Employment Office, located in the West Administrative Center (next to the hockey rink).

You may present one document from List A, such as a passport, or a combination of one document from List B (e.g., school ID) and one document from List C (e.g., Social Security card or birth certificate). For a complete list of acceptable documents, click here. All documents must be original as required by federal regulations. The Student Employment Office will make copies during your visit. Please visit the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services website if you would like more information about this regulation.

STEP 2: Complete ALL onboarding tasks in your Workday inbox by your first day of employment.

  • Overall Hiring Process

Please see below for the steps of the overall hiring process, from creating a job requisition to approving time. This will assist you in understanding your responsibilities as a hiring manager as well as understanding the responsibilities of students and the Student Employment Office.

    1. Hiring Manager (HM) creates and submits a Student Job Requisition (JREQ).
    2. Student Employment Office (SEO) gets a task in their inbox to review JREQ and either approves it or, if there is an error, sends it back to the HM to make a correction.
    3. Once JREQ is approved, HM gets a task in their inbox to post it.
    4. Student applies to the JREQ.
    5. Primary Recruiter (PR)* checks the JREQ daily for new applicants (does NOT get a notification) and either declines or makes an offer.
    6. Student gets a task in their inbox to accept the offer (or a no thank you notification message if declined).
    7. SEO gets a task in their inbox to review the accepted offer and either approves it or, if there is an error, notifies the PR via email to fix the error.
    8. Once offer is approved, PR gets a task in their inbox to hire student.
    9. SEO gets a task in their inbox to approve the hire.
    10. Student gets task to complete Onboarding the following day.
    11. HM runs a report to confirm if student has completed Onboarding.
    12. HM un-posts JREQ when done hiring.
    13. HM closes JREQ at the end of the year.

*Most of the time the Primary Recruiter is the Hiring Manager unless the Hiring Manager assigns someone else in their department to be the Primary Recruiter.
